On 08.10.2007, the Palestinian Hydrology Group (PHG) launched its annual report 2006 after the general assembly met with the lead of Mr. George Odah the head of PHG board. The report pointed that 170’000 persons directly benefited from the PHG projects during last year in the West Bank and Gaza strip.
The projects included different activities related to water issues, rehabilitation of wells, building around 1’500 water harvesting wells and tens of irrigation pools, on the other hand all the projects targeted the unemployed population as a job creation activity, as well the local governance units as a leading parties were included in a capacity building courses.
PHG annual report also pointed that the organization facilitated 3 PHD degree scholarships for Palestinian students in Germany as well 5 MA degree scholarships in local universities. While the future approach for the PHG according to the report will be targeting the poverty through water related projects, as well to assist the rural and marginalized community in solving water shortage problems they are facing.
