Meithalun is a community in Jenin Governorate with a population of about 7,000 capita. It has no water network and the major source of water is tankers that bring water from the available Municipal well (about 220 meters deep).
Awarta (population of about 6000 capita) is located in Nablus Governorate. The community is not connected to a water network and the main source of water for it is tankers that provide water from a filling point (2 inches) owned by Mekorot Company.
Palestinian communities northwest Jerusalem governorate, suffer from chronic shortage in water supply since more than three months. This is basically due to the limited quantity supplied by the Israeli Mekorot Company to these communities which is usually reduced during summer time.
Burin community is located in Nablus Governorate with a population of about 3000 capita. It has no water network and the main sources of water are two local springs that provide about 2000 m3/month, tankers that provide water from Howwara community where about 2000 m3/month are provided, and about 1000 m3/month are provided through cisterns.
A settler from Qadumim settlement located on the lands of Kaf Qaddum community east of Qalqiliya city, poisoned ground water wells located on south-east of the community; this took place on Sunday, 8th of May 2005. This will possibly cause a large loss to the families, their farms and livestock if the water was used.
